Pelvis Course

Course Description:
The Pelvis course covers the Innominates, Pubes, and Sacrum. The course is divided into two parts: the innominates and pubes in the first part and the sacrum in the second part. The first lecture focuses on the functional anatomy pearls for the innominates and pubic symphysis followed by lab demonstrations on how to diagnose and treat the somatic dysfunctions in these areas. The second lecture covers the functional anatomy and dysfunctions of the sacrum. The core OMM treatment modalities covered in this course are Muscle energy, HVLA, Strain – Counter-strain, Soft Tissue Techniques, and the Still Technique.
Target Audience:
For CME’s: MD’s and DO’s only.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the functional anatomy of the pelvis.
- Review how to examine, diagnose and treat the different somatic dysfunctions of the pelvis.
- Understand how to apply HVLA, Muscle Energy, Soft Tissue Techniques, and the Still technique to the tissues of the pelvis.
Approximate time to complete the Course:
Pelvis Course: 6 Hours. This includes watching the video course, practicing the technique, filling out an evaluation and taking the test.

Patricia E Murray, D.O,
BIO:
Dr. Patricia (Trish) Murray received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1999 from UNECOM. Prior to medical school she was a high school teacher for ten years. She completed an osteopathic internship in 2000 at UCONN, followed by a traditional internal medicine residency at UCONN. After residency she practiced primary care internal medicine along with OMM from 2003-2005 and then went on to specialize in NMMOMM. She has taught CME courses in OMM for many years and has been asked numerous times by course attendees to produce a video series that focuses on the lab demonstrations of the different OMM techniques taught at the live courses. Dr. Murray has primarily taught OMM CME courses at UNECOM in Biddeford, ME.
